February is Haiku Month
I wrote these as a disciplined exercise for myself inspired by February National Haiku Month. I don't expect anyone to read them here but this is a good place to store them in response to Dave's Form of the Week.

February 2023 National Haiku Month - Attempting to write a haiku each day of the month.

I know I'm now widowed and could get away without wearing it, but I feel naked without it. Besides, it is too pretty to just hide away in a safe.

Feb 23, 2023 # 26 National Chili Day

Peppers simmer in sauce
thick with beef, beans, and onion.
Texas does it best.

I make great chili and cornbread, having friends over to share tonight. I never had Texas chili but I'm told nothing beats it and they don't put beans in their chili. I love chili with beans and I like spicy and hot, but I hear Texans really crank up the heat.
