Another week has passed,
One after another, the days march by.
One month follows another into
The annals of history.

Will we learn, or will
It all be forgotten?
In our quest to get ahead,
Will it all be for naught?

I have a hope within me;
Whether or not it is seen.
I have a reward ahead of me,
If only I do not falter at the end.
