not faded over decades

I have not faded over decades.
Why can she not sense me? She’s
insensible, insensitive. I am
everywhere in here. In every
room my presence unfolds from walls,
rising out of floorboards, imprinted
in upholstery. I carry the fragrance
of violet, radiate spectrums of blue.
She sits at her desk not hearing
my calculated singing, not feeling
my energies gather & splinter.
She works at the table not seeing
my shadow, or self, manifest
gently, a message, a blessing.

Blind to my bumps in the night,
deaf to my opera, dumb to change
in the temperatures, she lives
in my home all amongst me.
I have not faded over decades.
I wish that she could sense me.
