Hidden Canvas
Hiding behind a screen,
behind a smile.

Bold.
Bright.
Cheerful.

But tainted memories
still taunt a little girl
who thinks she's fat.

"Ellenormous",
they jeer.
Kids are so fucking cruel.

That little girl never cried,
                                    never ran,
                                                   never hid.
She gave as good as she got,
and she forged her own path.

But somewhere deep inside,
she still believes
she'll never be
one of the pretty girls.
