M.I.A.
Kent came home,
Henry too.
I didn’t lose anyone close.
But for years I wore
a silver metal band on my wrist
with a name engraved.

Lt William L Kinkade.

I never knew him,
I don’t know what branch or division.
I only know he was MIA
somewhere in South East Asia
and I prayed for his return.

The bracelet sits in a box now
with other memories.
Every now and then
I take it out and wonder.
