Lighthouse - Week # 3

I have no tale to tell
under this summer sky.
This sky holds no surprises,
its watercolors thinly brushed,
even the clouds have no form.
The sun proclaims itself king
using my glass for a mirror

My stories belong to moonless nights
sagas sounded in shrieking squalls.
The groans of tired ships, their battered hulls,
the shattered men, their hands raw,
battling the waves that strain the rigging
and stormy winds that shred the sails,
using my beacon to beckon them homeward.
