Endless Political Games
Endless Political Games

Endless political games
Turning on their leaders ,
Republicans launching civil war.

Calling each other names,
Just crazy ringleaders,
No one seems to know what they stand for.

Making such wild claims,
Enraging newsreaders,
In the end, what will they have to shore for?
The Blood Quill form of poetry, invented by James T. Henriksen writing on Allpoetry.com, consists of two six-line stanzas with line structures of 6, 6, 9, 6, 6, 9 and a rhyme scheme of abcabc defdef, as described and demonstrated in the following links:

Poetic Justice (Blood Quill)
I will tell you a tale
of a powerful guild,
with brave members all over the Horde;
And not once would they fail,
for this group was so skilled,
with a feather, they held like a sword.

They fought till the last breath,
whether theirs or their kill,
and the ground trembled hard with a thud;
With their enemy's death,
in their heart was a quill,
and a poem was written in blood.

I am a huge fan of World of Warcraft, and this is for the guild Poetic Justice. This is written in the form I call Blood Quill (based on this poem), created by me back in 2008.

The Blood Quill form has two stanzas, each made of six lines. First and fourth line rhymes, second- and fifth-line rhymes, and third- and sixth-line rhymes per stanza. The first, second, fourth, and fifth line has six syllables, while the third and sixth line has nine syllables. The rhyming pattern is abcabc defdef, and the rhythm pattern is 669669 669669, or visually:

Poetry Lost in My Mind (Blood Quill)
I have thousands of rhymes
urging long to come out,
and be written on paper with a pen,
but then countless times
I get lost in my doubt,
Will I write them down? I don't know when.

I have poetry trapped
in the wilds of my mind,
I must try to provide a way
for the road to be mapped,
and then maybe I'll find
that my muse has been leading all astray.

Finally, I managed to get a poem written down on paper, figuratively, inspired by random words from a chat message with a friend. It's written in my new form, Blood Quill.

The rhyming pattern is abcabc defdef, and the rhythm pattern is 669669 669669. © Dec 2014, James Taego Henriksen hope • thoughts • muse • lost • misc6
