Colour Me Happy

Raindrops on roses
and whiskers on kittens...
No wait, I mean, old musical movies,
and the accents of Britons.

A day off work,
a trip to the beach,
hokey pokey ice cream
and when shelves are in reach.

Baby kittens and puppies,
and well, just babies, you know.
Bands playing live music
or going to see a live show.

Sleeping late in the morning,
singing on road trips,
crisp nectarines,
and salt and vinegar chips.

Starting to read
a great new series, all out,
feeling flush enough in the pocket
that it's my turn to shout.

When inspiration strikes,
ticking a task off my list,
these things, they make me
too happy to resist.
