This is a collection of poems told from fictional view points. They are not about me.

Exhaustion
Tonight,
my burdens weigh heavy,
thick iron chains
dragging grooves
in the dirt.
Every shuffling step
demands more
from muscles that burn with fatigue.
Gritty eyes lose focus
and the shadowy gloom
fades as the last slow blink
ends with feathered lashes
resting on dusty cheeks.
The faint snap of a whip,
somehow near yet far,
is a mere echo.
