#Support
Tidal waves of emotions
totter far above me, a threat
that keeps me tense and
drained, in a constant fret.
Temper frayed, mouth turned down,
shoulders drooping under a weight
that weakens my knees, sets
my legs trembling; can't stand straight.

The wave breaks, a thundering torrent
that batters me, a force
I fear will beat the breath from my body
even as I scream myself hoarse.

As I stand there, bruised but upright,
knees weak but feet set in place,
I look up to find it is not my strength
that saved me, but your embrace.

When life overwhelms me - tears,
drama, chaos - and my energy's gone,
you're always there to hold me up,
provide support, there for me to count on.
