Venom of truth
A slow simmering
that builds under pressure,
words fired like darts,
designed for maximum impact,
maximum injury.

The inevitable poison
seeps through us both,
leaving unseen scars,
and lessons learned.

Maybe lessons learned.

Maybe next time.
