Day 5 - All the choices!

American Football Day - The pointy ball kind
Daylight Saving Day - You have an extra hour for this one.

National Redhead Day - Who's your Redhead ?

National Chinese Takeout Day - Grab some before or after you blog.
World Tsunami Awareness Day - This is serious for many.

Zero Tasking Day - Seems like nothing.

Guy Fawkes Day

Such good choices - why not comment on them all?

1. American football - worshipped by many, an idol really. Millions spent, won and lost. All for that pointy ball to move a few yards. My son played in HS, they never won a game. My HS team never won a game. Guess it was a family tradition. Here in Montana it's the rivalry of the Montana Grizzlies versus the Montana State Bobcats. Missoula vs Bozeman. But then in rural schools, you sometimes have to travel an hour or more to games. And then be careful for elk or deer or bear on the field.

2. Daylight Savings Day - just leave it the same. I hate the changing back and forth. We have 5 clocks in the house that are not electronic. They are antiques. Quite a chore to get them all precise, let alone get them all timed the same. I note that Hawaii and Arizona don't observe this antiquated idea. I vote for leaving it one way or the other. Like my vote counts...

3. National Redhead Day - my niece is a redhead. And from what I hear, my father was as well. And his sister. So I guess it's a family trait. Also a rarity. And now with everyone procreating with all races, I think it will soon disappear. Perhaps in the future redheads will be worshipped as something unusual and divine.

4. National Chinese Takeout Day - not happening here. No restaurant here serves anything remotely resembling Chinese food. But I do know Butte, west of here, has one of the oldest in the nation. It hearkens back to the copper mining days there.

5. World Tsunami Awareness Day - Again, if a tsunami happens here, well, there are worse problems than we currently have. We are a landlocked state. There are rivers and lakes, of course. But the ocean is two states away, and Montana is a big state. I've never lived near the ocean, but I've noted that if the water drains at the shore, bad sign. You're probably already too late to make it to high ground. That's my only view on tsunami.

6. Zero Tasking Day - I wish. There is always something to do. Grab a rag, wipe the counter. My first job was in a small diner. "Find something to do or you'll wish you had." So you made yourself busy. All the time. Same thing at home - busy, all the time. Entropy - a process of degradation or running down or a trend to disorder. Good word. Find a way to use it in that story.

7. Guy Fawkes Day - I think that is some kind of memorial to someone in England. Another excuse to use fireworks? Christmas and New Years here are again a time to shoot off bombs around my home. Can't wait, she states sarcastically.
