Splurged

I splurged today on a set of 48 colour pencils.

I've been doing a lot of 'circle' drawings lately, The ones I've done already in crayon cannot be laminated as the crayon colours react to heat and smudge. So I've switched to colour pencils, which are not as easy to handle but can be laminated.

I've already gifted Mansee, my friend who runs the Lahe Lahe cafe, a set of six place-mats (laminated pencil circles). I was thrilled when I went to present them to her, because she appreciated them and then her son (age 8) came in. He didn't know I had anything to do with the place-mats, but saw them there and said, "Wow how nice!" Spontaneous praise from a child is so wonderful to hear.

So I splurged on 48 shades. That's the brand I like and the 24 shade box wasn't available. I hope the 48 shades will give me more scope for colour combinations! It will, I know!!

I need to stop feeling guilty about buying stuff for myself. It's something I'm going to use, enjoy using, and enjoy gifting - so why the guilt?
