SF time Travel

In San Francisco
There is a neighborhood
Stuck in time

In the Haight Ashbury
It is always the summer of love
It is always 1967.
A few blocks away
It is 2023.

note: visited SF this summer. Haigh Ashbury seems frozen in time, felt like I was back in 1967!

N THIS DAY IN HISTORY

"The Human Be-In took place on January 14, 1967, in Golden Gate Park. The event was a critical moment in San Francisco’s countercultural history that ultimately set in motion the Summer of Love, bringing hippies to San Francisco in droves. It positioned San Francisco as the capital of the counterculture philosophy and the epicenter of music and protest. 30,000 people gathered to 'turn on, tune in, and drop out' in peaceful protest against Vietnam, the illegalization of LSD, and restrictive, 'square' society. Ultimately, it is remembered as an event that inspired the likes of Woodstock."
