"Need Your Love So Bad" - Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green era)

This is another one falling into the "you've got to listen to the long version" category (more guitar solo, dial back on the violins). This kind of stuff never showed up on my radar - ever - when I was young. I had encountered the "popular" line-up of Fleetwood Mac, after Nicks and Buckingham had joined and the nature of the music they played changed drastically, but I had never known of their previous incarnation let alone heard of Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan.

Peter Green has a well-deserved reputation as an outstanding guitarist (though Danny Kirwan is no slouch either), but this piece shows that it wasn't all fireworks and that he could take the slower pieces with ease.

Peter Green is another of the recently departed (2020) and had a troubled life, but he was a top performer in his heyday before it all started to go wrong in Munich and that party. Don't do drugs, kids!
