Write a conversation about the most unlikely companions. Think completely opposite ends of the spectrum and what they could possibly talk about.
I chose a walrus and a polar bear.

The artic ice was melting and the polar bears were having problems finding solid ground and had to be careful not to drown in the water. The polar bear found some dry land away from the water and rested on the snow. The polar bear looked up. Oh great! A walrus then again....

"What are you doing here? Why aren't you with your kind? I could eat you but I had 2 seals today. You're safe for now."

"I could ram you with my tusk. You could bleed all over the ice."

"It will take something bigger and uglier then you to scare me. I am a polar bear. I rule. You big, ugly beast!"

"You think you are pretty? I am not leaving. You leave."

"I come here to get away from my wife and kids. Why are you here?"

"My wife is in a mood. She is pregnant again."

"Congrats, I guess. More food for me and my family."

"More of my kind can attack you. You wooly bully!"

"I have fur. I can roll around and blend in with the snow. You won't see me."

"I see you now."

"I am letting you see me. You moron."

"Shut up. I want to take a nap. I can let my wife have morning sickness and not listen to her whine."

"My wife whines but she is good with our cubs. I do love them."

"I love my family, too."

"Why are we enemies?"

"You tell me. You want to eat me."

"When we can't find seals, you are food. You are big as a house and take up space."

"You aren't skinny. You hurt humans."

"So do you. We don't like explorers."

"We don't either but if they don't bother us, no problem."

"I am a polar bear and we own the artic."

"You think you do. We rule the ocean."

"Go right ahead. I get the ice bergs what is left of them."

"You like ice bergs. I like seaweed and clams."

"Yuck. You smell."

"You don't smell so pure. Your fur is dirty."

"The snow and ice melts and it gets black. I can wash up."

"I just roll around in the snow and jump in the water and I am good to go."

"Go where?"

"Where ever I want. Find food. Spend time with my wife and kids. I have friends and we like the breeze blowing off the ocean. We get to fight other walruses."

"Oh joy. I walk around the ocean with my family and teach my kids how to survive."

"I do, too. Life is hard and you polar bears eating us doesn't help."

"The ice melts and my family could drown. You don't care."

"Don't eat me and I will care. We don't bother you."

"Look . We have to eat. I will make you a promise. When I see you and your family, I won't eat you. Don't pick a fight with me and my kind."

"Alright. I am going to take my nap. Don't eat me."

"I won't. I need a nap, too."

Just then a young walrus came running to the big walrus. "Dad, Mom's in labor."

"Got to go. Remember your promise."

"I will. Hope you have more sons."

"Me, too. Enjoy your family."

"I will."

The walrus left and the polar bear took his nap. He saw the walrus again with his family and the polar bear was with his. They nodded at each other and went their separate ways.
