“what took you so long?” Echoe Poem
Sam Adams had a weird dream
a dream that haunted him
haunted him for many years.

For many years, in his dream
He was drinking in his dream
in the dream, he was In the Cosmos bar.

And in the Cosmos Bar
There were mysterious figures in the Cosmos Bar
Drinking up a storm in the Cosmos Bar.

He was startled in the bar
When he was startled to realize
These were ghosts he realized
Of past and future lovers he realized.

And he realized in the center of the bar
Was the most beautiful woman in the bar
He had never seen such a beautiful woman.

She was like an angel this woman
Sent to earth like an angel
this angel sent to welcome him

To welcome him and rescue him
From the wretched fate that faced him
Save him from the loneliness

And save him from loneliness
From making a lonely mistake
Of looking for love mistakenly
In all the wrong places looking for love.

He woke up and went to look for love
searching for love that night.

Every night for years
Until one-night years later
years later the dream angel appeared.

appeared and said,

“what took you so long?” she said

That was the beginning they said
Of a 50-year love affair she said.
