Daily musings about my life. . .

I am at one with nature
For whatever reasons, the other inhabitants of
this house don't enjoy getting out much.
Around 3 pm I was about ready to jump out of
my skin. I bribed my brother with money, with
food just to come outside; toss around the
softball, play soccer, ANYTHING. I even
promised that I'd let him win! But no,
apparently the company of a television is more
interesting than me. So outside I went with my
glove and the ball to play catch by myself. It is
rather sad. I ended up just throwing it and
then running after it. It felt like being one of
those kids who gets left out of the kickball
game or something. So I ran around for a bit,
barefoot of course because it's the
summertime and god forbidden I put anything
on my feet. Meaning that when I got back
inside my mom had a fit because I was
"tracking dirty footprints all over the house".
Yes, those are where again? I certainly don't
see them. Granted my feet were like charcoal
but I wasn't marking up the floor or anything.
But off I go to scrub my feet.
Then my mom tells me that I have to de-weed
the cement platform in the backyard. We
bought this screenhouse about 5 years ago
for sitting in outside-we haven't used it in 2
years. So the platform that my parents put 2
months into building with cement blocks has
been over taken with just about every living
green thing possible. And I was left with the
darling task of pulling it all out. And where
was the prince during all of this? Enjoying a
popsicle. My protests fell on deaf ears. So
there I was outside again (barefoot too) for an
hour yanking unidentifiable lifeforms out of the
ground. Hopefully there wasn't any poison ivy
in there but with my impeccible luck...
I reentered the house covered in dirt and
grass stains and got yelled at again. I can't
help that outside is dirty! Argh. Yet I was
satisfied. I had gotten outside. I was dirty. I
was tired. I was at one with nature.
