The Lunch Poem
The bell tolls the hour,
it’s for me’
my lunch hour.

What could be more fun
than a salad
of croutons?

Chomping a cheeseburger.
or a sandwich of
limburger?

I’ve had pizza a plenty,
so today I don’t think
I’ll have any.

Oh, I don’t know what to say
It’s not time
for me to play,

so what will I choose, you say...

Pickles or pumpkins, sweet and sour dumplins‘?
Fritters and grits, greens with cheese sticks?

There’s still time to decide.
My time,
I will abide

You see, when in doubt I go looking
to see what dear ol’ Mom’s
got cooking
