Thinking about my reviews
I got to thinking about my reviews just after finishing reading, reviewing and rating a few items today. It seems I tend toward shorter items during the day, during my lunch and other breaks from work, while I review the longer items evenings and weekends when I have more time to read for pleasure.

Today I broke one of my rules and looked at an author's bio before rating and reviewing the item. The author was 12.

Now, each item, I think, should stand on its own merits or fall on its lack of merits, but I hesitate to critique the work of a child who is still developing talents and who may stop doing so if too harshly criticized, or if the author is too sensitive. Needless to say, I did not rate that item, but wonder if I have rated and/or reviewed other youngsters.

That is a dilemma I will have to consider.
