Seasons Of The Heart

With every moment in your stead,
my heart takes it course,
to follow you.
I have asked for miracles, and
been given them.
In the instant that you show
me your love, the heart circles
back to find its passion,
making our love timeless.

I have watched you in the spring,
bent on sending me flowers,
watching out for the ways to
discuss true love,
making it real,
holding me in your hand like a
pebble that was made of gold.

Then came summer, the hazy
lush weeks of a sultry drama,
ticking out my fantasies,
making the sun shine just for me.

In the fall, you acquiesce to
taking long romantic walks
together,
the colors of a passing season
all a'fire, telling me the
world "was my oyster" and that
I should find constant comfort
in the cool brisk wind by
holding you tight.

Then in this winter to come,
as during last year,
snow will fall into the
cavities of my heart,
knowing you are the Christmas
present I always wanted,
giving me frozen snapshots of
the love between the two of us,
print after print capturing
the seasons of the heart,
making the yuletide magic.
