:: The Rewarding Reviewers Committee ::
Reviewing is an extremely important part of the Writing.Com community.
Honest, encouraging and respectful reviews assist our authors in improving
their talents. Our public reviewing system was created to promote reviewing
awareness within the Writing.Com community. Not only is it a useful tool for
those new to leaving feedback, the public reviewing system also enables any
and all members to reward those reviewers who send great feedback.

To supplement our Public Reviewing system, we're pleased to introduce the
"Rewarding Reviewers Committee" ! The goal of this brand new committee
is to actively review public feedback and reward deserving reviewers. While
some general guidelines are provided to committee members, we leave the
rewarding up to their own opinions.

By having the committee involved with crediting our reviewers, we are helping to
be sure that no public reviews go unseen. The committee has plenty of Gift
Points to give out for great public reviews so don't delay in heading out to
publicly review writing from your favorite genres! You'll help your fellow
writers, improve your own skills and maybe earn some Gift Points!

Writing.Com committee positions are reserved for Moderators and above, but
don't forget: Anyone can reward great reviews from the Reviewing page! The
Reviewing page can be accessed from the top of any page or directly at:

:: Monthly Merit Badges To The Top Reviewers ::
To further promote the importance of great reviewing within our writing community,
a Reviewing Merit Badge will be awarded to each person listed in the Top 100
Reviewers for each month. The badge will store the recipient's position within the
Top Reviewers for that month. This is a wonderful way to acknowledge reviewers
and maintain a history of their efforts.

For the first month of this program, we will be determining the Top 50 Reviewers
from January 2004 and awarding Merit Badges to them. In February we
increased from 50 to 100, so beginning this month, we'll award Merit Badges
to the Top 100 Reviewers. The awarding of badges will take place shortly after
the end of each month.


:: Helpful Guidelines For Great Reviews ::
Writing a detailed review is time well spent. Creating valuable feedback for a
fellow writer is one of the best exercises available for improving your own writing.
That said, if you're going to spend the time to review, there is a much better
chance for your ideas to get through to an author if they are well presented and
