A memory from Hospice
The funniest thing to happen - the thing I think I'll always remember about Jean's time in hospice was on Tuesday or so, when she was having a pretty good day.
We were giving her water and she was taking it. We were giving her apple sauce and she was taking it.
And so I asked her if she wanted something else.
I asked her if she wanted some Cocoa Pebbles. When I asked, she was looking toward her left, and I was on her right side. Her head swiveled around curiously, and her eyes were wide open, even though she couldn't see. She nodded kurtly and said "Yeah!" then she paused, "Ya got some?"
It was so ... what's the adjective. Funny doesn't quite do it. Cute doesn't describe it. Heartwarming.
I'll always remember that.
