Ramblings from my mind!

I had a rare day. It was a day that doesn't happen very often in my life. Today is homecoming at my son's school. He is 17 and I only found out last Wednesday that he would be attending the dance tonight. Well, needless to say, my life is chaotic and today was the first chance I could get to do a little shopping with him. He didn't need much just a new shirt and tie. The homecoming dance is informal or semi-formal. I don't get to spend as much time with him as I would like so a day like this is cherished. Jr. is a senior and likes to spend as much time with his friends as possible. This is probably a good thing since several of them are attending the same college and will be rooming together there. It takes about a half hour to get to town so we had a pretty good talk in the car. Again, very rare to have uninterrupted time to talk. At the store it only took us a few minutes to find what he needed. Men's clothes are a little boring. He doesn't usually wear ties and he didn't even argue with me about it. Amazing.

I even got a hug when he was walking out the door. That doesn't usually happen either. Unfortunately, this will happen less and less frequently since he is off to college in the fall. I am going to enjoy it while he is here.
