Music Music Music
It's been a musically enlightening few days. Before I go any further I cannot express how important music is to me and how I feel life would not be worth living without it. I can't read music, I can't play an instrument, I'm not a great singer but I thank God for all those wonderfully talented musicians out there. I hate it when I'm asked for musical preferences, as there is very little I don't like. Opera I can't stand. A lot of country music gets on my nerves but there are exceptions. I wouldn't have classed myself as a Jazz fan but I adore Norah Jones and this week a friend sent me a download of a track by Weather Report. Never heard of them before but I found the music soulful, hypnotic and soothing. If it makes my spine tingle, as this did, then it passes the test.

This week we've had The Brit Awards and American Idol on TV. (Okay, I'm a sad person) If it's about music I'll watch it and when the no hopers have gone there are some damned good singers on these reality shows. Oh, and I LOVE Simon Cowell! If people who have no talent decide to expose themselves, they cannot complain when they're told the truth, in my humble opinion.

When I wake in the night, which happens a lot, there is always a song going round my head to accompany my thoughts. Last night it was a Scissor's Sisters rendition. I have no idea how my brain selects which song to keep repeating; very often it's not what I've been listening to in the daytime. Bohemian Rhapsody seems to make many appearances and I don't understand why, unless it's a reflection of the rubbish stored in my sub conscious. Not that I dislike the song, but after 'Scaramouche, Scaramouche, Can you do the Fandango?' and 'Beelzebub has a devil put aside for meeeee,' has invaded the dark night twenty times, I could quite easily go off Freddie Mercury.

Anyway, time to get started on Saturday. Now what shall I put in my CD player first today? Decisions, decisions.
