Black Butterfly
From cocoon to butterfly
You are the epitome of deep-rooted vines of black berries
Sweeter than the eyes can see
And my eyes see you in a style that causes cerebral narcolepsy
Causing me to fall into soulful slumber
Dreaming beautiful contingencies that are too good for this reality
So I hastily find comfort within an introspective fallacy
That involves a scene so elating that each ingenuous kiss molds insecurities to strength
In your eyes I see a spirit of ancestral sovereignty
As if bathed in the Nile as a daughter of Sheba
Or conceptualized by the love of Oshun and Yoruba
The daughter of Ra, the lover of man
A legacy of promise that fulfills all archetypes for perfection
So now you soar with the wings of age and abundance
A spectacle of beauty and an advocate of knowledge
I wait for the day when I can say without delay
That the butterfly flew into my heart
And the ones in my stomach fluttered away
