chapter 3
The next day at school, Raoul was disgusted after saying hi to Riah.  She had barely even opened her mouth or looked up from her book, he wondered what happened to the girl he had met yesterday.  He wasn’t in a good mood, she had spoilt it all, he had felt more comfortable with her than with anyone for a long time.
An arm wrapped around his neck, too much perfumed attacked his nose.
“Hey baby” the voice of his current ‘fling’ cooed in his ear, he unwrapped her arm from around him and turned her to face him
“I missed you yesterday, I thought you was coming over my house” she pouted, he had always thought that was cute, but right at that moment, he was sick of girls like her who wore way too much make and enough perfume to make someone choke on it.
“Yea, well I was busy” he gave her the cold shoulder, barely even looking at her.
“Well why didn’t you call?” she said, he could already hear the uncertainty in her voice
“I was busy” but he didn’t care
“Did you have football practice?” he looked at her, narrowing his eyes on her
“Look, you not my girlfriend, I said I was busy and I was busy so stop asking me 20 questions okay?” he huffed
She stood there for a minute, not knowing what to say, or do, then her shoulders slumped she walked away. Somebody sat near him, yet he did not even register.
“That was mean” the voice whispered, he turned swiftly to see Riah reading a book next to him
         “Don’t scare me like that”
“You’re too jumpy, relax” she said throwing his words at him, she grinned widely, he chuckled, “Why give her the boots like that?” she said seriously nodding to the girl who sat with her friend, crying.
“She thinks she’s my girlfriend or some shit” he snorted
“Wasn’t she? You guys are always together, making out” she rolled her eyes
“So? She knew the deal, I told her I wasn’t looking for a girlfriend, she said she was okay with it”
“I bet she thought she could change your mind” he shrugged
“Who cares? I was getting sick of her anyway” she lightly hit his arm
“Guys are such jerks, so anyway…”
“Not anyway, what to do you mean by that?”
         “By what?” playing the stupid
         “Saying guys are jerks”
“Well I mean, look at how you treated her, so carelessly, you didn’t even think about her feelings”
“Yes I did, that’s why I broke up with her”
“Uh huh, Whateva, like I was saying, today after school at the library”
         “What’s happening there?”
“Tutoring” she said and walked away, he frowned at her, she was weird, but something about her made him like her.
