And now with the weather...Tom Foolery
--"winged with red lightning and tempestuous rage" [Paradise Lost].

And Now With the Weather...Tom Foolery

The king of smoke and mirrors, the queen of song and dance
Exploit,
hoodwink,

and bemuse the masses
With chicanery, they sell a bill of goods:
A glacial mass is escaping the northern woods!

The king confounds-- with words he’ll muddle
The nor’easter that’s coming is no little puddle
Of heavy rain. No, ‘twill freeze, with enough accumulation
To fire even the most perplexed imagination.

The queen expounds, the pretty fool
With oft hoaxing hogwash, says dirty pool.
Several feet will obliterate, will quashus all, will traffic strangle
A deal with sellers of blowers and shovels—be that her angle?

The masses are distraught, they’re all caboodled,
Trumped up
weather- the business makes ‘em soft-sell noodled!
Do I hear a foot, who’ll give a foot? Two and who’ll make it four?
The worst of the century, they’re seduced and run screaming for the store.

C’mon everyone, it’s time for the icy fast shuffle—now pinch!
Set your alarms early to dig out that major accumulation…of an inch!
