weekend!

My weekends really start on Friday, since my husband works 3rd shift and his last night of the week is Thursday night. I tend to not get much done on Fridays.

I'm once again attempting the impossible. I'm trying to write a sonnet.

I promised Mitch forever ago that I'd enter his contest, "SHAKESPEAREAN SONNET CONTEST: Closed "  [E], and I've tried to write a sonnet at least three times recently. It's just so hard for me! I just spent 10 minutes writing one line, and then I remembered I'm going to have to rhyme the last word, so I had to change it. That's what happens - I work really hard writing a few lines (the strict meter kills me!), and then I have to delete them anyway because I can't seem to write lines to go with it! It's so frustrating! But I bet it will feel awesome once I have a sonnet written!

I'm also working on a review for a novel. I've only read and written my review for the Prologue and it's already over 4,000 characters, so it's likely going to be the biggest review I've ever written!

Ooh, and I did the best Madlib ever yesterday!! It's actually created by the same author whose contest I entered yesterday! Here is the Madlib:

I've done quite a few Madlibs on this site, and I was losing hope. (It's actually difficult to write one that is really funny. Believe me, I've tried.) This one made me laugh out loud, though! If you have a few spare minutes, try it out!

...and I don't know what's been going on around here lately, but people must be going crazy or something! I'm staying out of it. I'm not taking sides, and I'm not commenting (other than this comment, I guess).
