Pass Me Over
I open my eyes to another day
While others are shut forever
And on this day of reconciliation
I prostrate myself towards a higher power
And submit myself to him and his necessity
If he did not have a purpose for me
My eyes would have dilated
My mind would have carried over into spirit
And my soul would have passed over
No, I am still here
Still living and breathing and surviving
Still striving to succeed
And in my success I have faith indeed
And in my shortcomings I am holding to contempt
Although I know that all could have been avoided with my own strength
I stretch my mind to the heavens to say thank you for it all
Hoping one day when its time to hear the call
I will stand tall and ready
We dropped bombs in Somalia, next the Serengeti,
If you find me laid upon the battlefield
Machete in hand, body broken and bruised for you
I have finally done what is needed from me
I finally won Lord’s battle for thee
In the midst of the storm I shall stay the course
Because nothing but God can take my life
Nothing but God can end my strife
Nothing but God can
Pass me over

To understand my words, you must first understand my mind. Balik737
