         Today is my dad's birthday --- 74 today.  Wow.  It seems only yesterday when I was a kid and we were having a cookout in the backyard and dad was in his mid-thirties...  He and mom are doing well and fairly healthy --- dad has heart and blood flow problems but is on medication to keep going.  My mom has Chronic Obstructive Pulminary Disease (COPD) from smoking since she was in her mid- to late teens.  Otherwise, they're both active and strong.  Thankfully.

         It's pouring rain tonight... since about 7pm.  I hear the roll of thunder in the distance. 

         Today was very stressful for me at work... one of those days when I wonder why I'm doing this.  Somehow I made it through.

         I have a muscle that's been cramping in my lower back all week.  So, I think I'll go relax with the heating pad.

         Tomorrow morning I pick up my bright, cheerful grandsons...  So, I need to rest-up for that.
