I spent the first part of my day with Cody and Tyler (my grandsons) at the local Veteran's Park.

We brought our lunch from McDonald's and fed a persistently pleasant and hungry little squirrel a few of our french fries.  He was so tame, he actually joined the three of us on a swing and ate out of our hands.

Then we moved on to a spider web of ropes where Tyler quickly climbed to the top, a nice lookout point.  Cody climbed a little too and then we went on a short hiking adventure before driving around to a second playground.

There were quite a few birthday parties going on throughout the park today.  We arrived at the second playground just in time to watch a giant castle being inflated.  The boys so wanted to play on it that they cajoled me into asking the parents, which I did after a little hesitation.  It seems we were there before any of the other children arrived.  So, the boys joined their little boy jumping around inside and sliding down its slide.

With a very grateful thank you and good-bye, I took the boys home.
