Thoughts on writing
I have been doing the daily flash fiction and I notice that sometimes I am more creative/inspired than others. At first I thought it was in response to the prompts. Maybe "things" that must be in the story are easier than "situations" that must be in the story. But now I think not.

My method (which I write now so I can look back) is to (1) put the prompts in my head and let them sit. (2) decide on a genre and finally (3) write an opening line that wants me to see what happens next.

I then write a 400-500 word story and edit it down to 300. I think that is one of the purposes of flash fiction. It makes me get rid of words that I don't need for the story.
