A modest journal. |
Monday, April 13, 2009 Good day! I trust everyone had a Happy Easter. It's tough to get back to the grindstone after the holidays. I attended a wedding Saturday afternoon. It was beautifully located behind a church, on the water (Pinellas Point South, St. Petersburg). A pair of crows were softly cawing, flying through the trees and a gentle breeze blew the palms overhead, keeping us refreshed. As the guests faced the gulf, we saw a fishing boat floating about a mile offshore and a pair of pelicans soaring in unison against a distant sky. A guitarist sang mellow love songs while chatting guests sat in rows of white chairs, in eager anticipation. There was a beautiful white arbor over the pulpit. A man dressed in full Scottish attire began playing a wistful tune on bagpipes, while briskly walking down the aisle just before the bride and her parents. My boss, the father-of-the-bride, officiated. Throughout the ceremony the tears began to well, never bursting forth. Goose-bumps tickled my skin as I watched the tender, most intimate sharing of vows. Have a great week. Spring is definitely in the air. =) |
