Six weeks and two days
I'm writing this blog simply because I have too. I've written through every element in my life and my sudden pregnancy can be no exception. I'm keeping it private because at this time, we have only told a handful of essential people. Until the majority of our friends and family know, I'll keep these notes private. What am I feeling? A mix of being elated and grateful that this has happened naturally for us and also nervous and scared about what is to come. I'm determined to do everything I can to have a healthy pregnancy. Aside from a killer headache in my right temple last night, I've felt good. I'm a bit tired and my stomach feels strange but each time I find myself thinking negative thoughts, I stop myself. I'm determined to enjoy this, come what may. This is a gift, a beautiful gift. My husband is so happy. He will make a wonderful father and I could not be more excited for him. We told his mother today and after a few moments, she collapsed into joyful sobs and laughter. It is hard because I do not expect the same reaction from my mother, however, I know my grandmother will be estatic. Yesterday I went and confirmed the test with my doctor. When I walked in, I was ushered to the back where the nurse congradulated me. She gave me some information and set up my first nurse and OB appointments. I see my nurse on June 4th and my doctor on the 12th where I assume we will have our first ultrasound. In the parking lot I called Fatih to give him the news and burst into tears of gratitiude. Today I set up an online nutrition and fitness tracker that will hopefully keep me on point for miminizing my weight gain and decreasing my risk for gestastial diabetes. I have a few more challenges being a plus size Mom so my determination and dilligence is very important. This is the most important thing I have ever had to get absolutely right.
