Raving about Mr. Shivers!

Yesterday I read the wondrous debut novel by Robert Jackson Bennett, Mr. Shivers. Although admittedly this book is not for the faint of heart, it is a gloriously written story and I cannot recommend it highly enough. By the third sentence, my brain raced to follow the twisting, nonstop-paced, plot, while my soul lingered to savor the lyricism of each glorious sentence. In this first novel, Mr. Bennett writes better than many prolific authors of long duration. I cannot wait for his next novel, though how it could possibly surpass Mr. Shivers, I do not know. Read this one and weep!
