Random temporary goal: PAY TAXES BY 4/15!
*Pencil* Pending. All I have to do is print the vouchers, write the checks, and take them to the post office. How 'bout let's not wait 'til 4/15 and stand in a long line, eh? *Pthb*

Post at Advice for Business Managers   once per day.
*Check* Goal met.

Post at MichelleTuesday.com   at least once per week.
*Check* Goal met, but I still have two new original songs to record and post.

Meet other writing goals.
*Writing* Textbroker articles: None pending.
*Check* Prepare MochaNotes.com for future blog opportunities: Yep. MochaNotes.Com

The SpecFic Ezine seems to be popular with WDC friends. *Thumbsup* Which is all fine and good, if I can develop a business plan for the project. Would-be small publishers, take heed: You only make money when you sell a product. You may think you can beat the powerhouse big boy publishers by being nicer to your authors, but it's actually your customers who matter. If my Biz Managers blog actually earns money, it won't be because I'm selling blog posts or advice. It will be because I'm selling advertising space on my blog. Why am I not selling blog posts or advice? They are a dime a dozen. You can get them for free all over the Internet, and since everyone knows the secret to SEO, it's pretty much impossible to optimize and beat the competition; the competition is doing it, too. And, frankly, the advertising space does not appear to be worth much, at least not yet.

In an ironic twist, Robert Waltz directed me to this blog because he proposed I add an anti-Penelope Trunk blog to my MochaNotes list. Apparently, he's not a fan. But I stumbled across this post, which articulates what I just said above nicely:

8 Reasons Why You Won't Make Money From Your Blog    (Sorry, Waltz.)

Launch one new performance repertoire song per week.
*Check* Goal met with my new original song, "Hey, Baby." It's upbeat and fun. I'm trying to do more positive music. "Time" is positive, particularly lyrically but a little darker in the chord progression.

Write one new original song per month.
*Check* Goal met: "Hey, Baby [E]

Brand the biz(es.)
*Check* Goal met.
*Bullet* added an RSS feed to Michelle Tuesday's Blog   (thanks for the tip, Waltz!)
*Bullet* added social networking links to Michelle Tuesday's Blog
*Bullet* overhauled Michelle Tuesday Music School

That last one was a big job, *whew*. Check it out - I embedded a video of a band I coach, Sapphire Blaze, into my Music School site. I still need to populate pretty much the entire contents of the site. Only the "Home" link points to anything other than a construction page. But, hey, the framework is in place, along with the cover copy. Now it's a matter of writing all the filler copy, and maybe taking photos of students to upload.

And, finally, I the nursing home who visited my Potbelly and took a biz card called yesterday to book a gig. *Bigsmile* I need to call back today and reschedule, though, because I have a conflict. *Pthb*

I need to stop by the bank and open a biz account under my fictitious name. I have checks to deposit!

15 minutes of small biz research per day.
*Check* Looking up how to add RSS feed and social networking links to my blog totally counts, along with reading why I won't make money from my blog  .

Perform one household chore per day.
*Check* Goal met.
