A political Sonnet? Isn't that an oxymoron?

A Necessary Evil

Political ads, oh so many woes!
Twisting the truth to sell the candidate,
Assume constituents aren’t on their toes
To believe their lies as though they’re legit.

Wake up! Take notice! This isn’t a farce!
A little clarity and honesty
And humility have all been quite sparse.
Bring on just a little reality!

But, you perform for the feeble minded.
Spewing half truths making yourself sound great.
All the while, the thinkers are reminded
The hypocrisy you communicate.

Pray, let the thinkers take time to reflect
And go to the poles to cast their ballot
