Hope
I love the word hope, especially when it means I can expect something good to happen. I have had a relatively sleepless day on the eve of my preaching stint.

Today has mostly been a day of resting from preparing for the sermon. I have been practicing and studying all week. I decided I needed a sabbath day rest in order to make sure God is the one behind what is going on. In the course of gettting my rest I watch basketball games and marvel how focused musicians and athletes are once they get the opportunity to express their talent.

The most important part is preparation. Another important factor is showing up. I am reminded of my very first sermon. I spent a lot of time preparing and ended up reading it in about ten to fifteen minutes. A lot has happened since then. I intend to use the experience as a chance to see where I go from here in terms of my ministerial talents. I pray it goes well and that it is God's voice I hear!!!
