TODAY’S BLESSING
Today I got to see uninhibited joy. A mother and her 3-year-old were standing in front of me at Starbucks. Apparently she had promised him that if he were a very good boy, he would get an autumnal treat from Starbucks. He was so excited: “Mommy, is this a pumpkin scone?” “ Mommy, this looks like a pumpkin scone.” Everything that was his eye level was a pumpkin scone. And what a delight when the man in front of him bought him the pumpkin scone. His little blue eyes got so big and he was going around showing everyone his pumpkin scone, (even the man who bought it for him). The man was telling the staff behind the counter that he was in from Phoenix as he accepted their thanks for making their day behind the counter. I was so blessed to get to see that little vignette in time.
