Second Helpings

New Batteries Needed

My spontaneity hasn't exactly had a chance to surface since my last entry as I've been a very busy person. Strange how some weeks there's nothing on the calendar, then others just too much to cram in.

My sister came over for a three day visit last week, which means a lot of fun, too much indulgence, too little sleep and very little time to spare. On Friday we took our gals out for a birthday meal at a world cuisine restaurant in Derby and then sis went home from there. Yesterday was the group walk which was again very muddy and tiring, followed by a school reunion in the evening which went very well.

Add to that the weekly foot tickling session, the writing group, the knitters and natters, the shopping and family visits and I'll admit today I feel shattered. I'm tempted to take a spontaneous nap, but will resist.

In other news we've just discovered Mey Ling has booked a flight to Cambodia in April and will be taking Bobby as he'll travel free of charge. She hasn't been home in many years and is entitled to do so, but she'll be away for two months and we're a little concerned how the two other children will react. Still, our son does do most things with them under normal circumstances and contact is much easier nowadays, so hopefully it will work out okay. I suspect we'll be helping out, but at least it should be a quieter and less fractious time.

I've just completed my last album on Picasa of last year's trip to the USA. It contains photos of both crossings and made me feel rather sad we won't be joining our friends in August this year when they go again. They do have a spare bed in their cabin and if I diet successfully I might just fit in one of their suitcases. I wonder if hubby would notice if I decided to take a spontaneous trip alone?
