Mesopotamia of Brainwaves
6-21-03

Your interrogation is fierce
but my internal irrigation system leaves you flushed.
We battle,
with one of my eyes trained on forcing your decline
and the other fixed on deflecting your jabs and barbs.
This is the breaking of a brotherhood.
Two families raised and raised up by each other.
We shed our names faster than blood-
the blood we created as led us to bond.
As I swing my battleaxe in your direction,
attempting to regulate by hate,
I notice you've done your research.
You learned by lying and deceiving;
running around deep hours into the night,
trying to discover your sanity in a landmine of sorts.
Not well of you, mind you; this onslaught
of shatterable and unwitting determination
will only fail you as if you've never seen failure coming.
We talked and traveled, years on end,
walking the same soil as one.
We went to school to be chopped apart
and at the end of the day we'd piece each other back together.
Now to know you have run away for so long isn't enough,
for the pain of you attempting to better me
has forced me to work increasingly diligently
not only to defeat you,
but to reverse your process of thinking
and reset you to the state you were in
before you let an outer-worldly fate of thanklessness tempt you
into thinking that if you inhale it,
you shall reap some wonderful, grandiose state
of eternal euphoria.
You have forgotten who you are,
as if you were taken to the tracks like a steam train
smuggling moonshine across state lines
in the middle of a dark, clear night.
It is I that knows your inner-being.
You're too cold not to be figured out.
You've hidden away all that you are
in your descent.
With the stroke of my voice
and the powers that have been bestowed upon me
I shall use my words
to destroy and rebuild the entire civilization
that is you.
In the heartbreak that it'll take for me to do it,
I will be certain that I find
whatever it may be that I lost
in the struggle to live without you
as my co-conspiritor, ally and friend.
I do not swing to hurt or kill.
This is for you to learn, comprehend why,
and take with you.
You will rise again.
