Lampshades and Peripheral Vision
Poor Cheddar. He broke his leg two weeks ago, and has had to wear one of those awful e-collars to keep him from chewing on his sutures.

We noticed that he was especially jumpy, and seemed to be withdrawing from us a little. This concerned me, since he should be bonding with us, not withdrawing. I chalked it up to his bad life situation before he was rescued until I took his e-collar off for a few minutes to give him a break from it. Suddenly he became calmer and more affectionate.

I guess the lack of peripheral vision and the discomfort of having the e-collar on was getting to the little guy. Good news is that he goes to the vet for a recheck tomorrow, and should be able to take it off for good then.
