Don't Start What You Know Will Finish Ugly (Systems)
5-23-05

Standing trump among towers,
I feel victorious inside
along stress or heart attack.
I want to mold or crumble
so I know the ache is for real
but I'm too glorified
to admit hurt exists.

I know these maladjustments
are from years of learning the hard way.
The only remedy
is to not need a cure;
prevention tactics need to be in place
before the blood circuits the body
and veins become speedramps for damage.
I stand atop an anthill with you;
I know it's where you feel,
and I should be tackling a mountain.
This needs to be your sparkling example,
not your cursed roadmap.

Will my imminent crash
be your saving grace,
or are you seedplanting one of your own?
It really isn't necessary;
the lines have been drawn
and we're merely waiting out the results.

Learn the system (your system)
before you attempt to beat it,
lest you become it (my system).
