Scarbough Fair, Medieval Fair, Teddy Bear
Blog City Prompt: I think of Scarbough Fair as a Medieval Fair, not just a song. What do you think a Medieval Fair was like?

I think royalty and peasants went to the fair. I can see Princesses all dressed up in their beautiful dresses. There were foods with spices like cinnamon for everyone because spices were expensive. Medieval jousting took place and sword fights exhibits also happened. Maybe there were wooden ducks for children to knock over to win prices. Prizes included money {of their time}, fresh vegetables and fruits, a visit to the castle, a goat, a cow, a pig or a horse. Singers with mandolins and dancing. Free horse rides for children. Merchants sold material, food, clothes, tools and jewelry. There were no carnival rides back then. Maybe there was cake or pie contest. Prizes might be money, food or a tour of the castle. Maybe someone drew your portrait or painted your picture. Maybe there were horse races. Rosemary, parsley, sage and thyme if they existed back then, could also be prizes.

BCOF Prompt: Teddy Bear Day. Do you remember your first Teddy Bear?

I had dolls but I had a vinyl Teddy Bear and I was throwing him in the air when I was four years old on a starry night. I wanted him to be part of the stars or land on the moon. He had a red bow and bell around his neck.

I collect Teddy Bears now. I have velvet brown fur ones as well as regular Teddy Bears in all different colors of brown. I have some white Teddy Bears. My husband bought me a Ballerina Bear the last time I was in the hospital. I have black bears that I got from the Smoky Mountains. I have a Princess Diana beanie bear and other beanie baby bears, Teddy Bear Christmas Ornaments and my Barbie has her own Teddy Bear as well. Teddy Bears have an innocent look about them. Don't make good guests at a Tea Party? I just love them. I have a book of Teddy Bears pictures and a folder of Teddy Bear stories in my Port.
