Internet and research
"How much would not having internet access for an extended period of time impact your life?"

Manx Cat from Japan

A Lot. I use the internet for research. If I read a book and want more information on a sub subject I research it. Sometimes I look up authors or parts of acknowledgements I find in reading material. Now that I am writing if I need more info on any subject it is easy to find.

I expect to find breaking news on the internet.

I was finally able to break into eBooks big time with a kindle in 2013. Now I have 3 kindles. I take out library books, get magazine subscriptions, through kindle, get other books through different book websites. My research abilities have risen by large percentages, because of online libraries.

The only draw back is electricity to charge my books. And the amount of internet I can use because of being rural. We switched to satellite in the summer but still have a limit to how much we are allowed to use. So Netflix on demand is not working for us right now and we thought it would.

I share internet time with my husband and he spends his part on Facebook.

However. I believe if they take internet away from the public at this stage of life. I would survive. Life has ups and downs. Losing the internet would be a down. It would probably cause world wide riots.
