In Space--NOT
Prompt: You are leaving earth forever on a Nasa mission. What will you miss about the blue planet?

---------------

Streaking through cosmos,
an unknown object to alien eyes
I, the earthling, now a space junk,
a rebel of sorts, not returning ever,
despite the warnings
of the U.S. Strategic Command
for I have a major demand,
which, on the takeoff,
my mystery pattern has etched
into earth’s clouds:
“Get much better presidential candidates!”

I wrote the above poem in a jiffy because I am silly. If I wasn’t being silly but truthful, I would say: “I am not going into space. I’ll stay on earth even if I am the last one here.”

As you see, this is an optional either-or situation. I am either silly or chicken. *Laugh*
