Fernando
There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright Fernando.

The young blonde woman stood outside looking at
the stars. She prayed her husband to be was alright.

He had went to fight the war. She worried everyday.
She went to her job at the hospital every day.
It had been three weeks since she had heard from him.
Sitting home, drinking tea, she kept thinking of him.

She fell asleep and saw a war scene in her mind.
Gunfire, a sky full of smoke and the drums.
Can you hear the drums, Fernando?
She woke up. What did all this mean? Was he safe?

The night passed and she got up and fed her dog.
She heard a car and looked out the window. Oh no!
Men dressed in army uniforms. Her heart stopped.
They were getting out of the car and she froze.

A man was getting out of the back seat with help
from the uniformed men. Fernando! He was alive!
Fernando walked with a cane and he was coming to
the door. The woman ran out the door and embraced him!

Fernando was home to stay. He had a bad leg injury.
He was able to walk and function but was no longer
able to do military service. Fernando was home and
the young woman couldn't be happier. He had come home.

The woman Lucy had dreamed about the battle and how he
was injured. He became a reporter for the local paper.
Fernando and Lucy were married and had a good life together.
They look at the stars together at night. Lovers forever.
