Week 4, Day 1, Poetry: Enigma

Enigma
What truth lies inside
Far from your prying eyes
straining so on the outside
To unearth this heart’s mysteries

Secrets concealed inside
Never to breach the surface
Miasmic filth to those outside
So entranced in your useless purpose

Cast your eyes if you must
Look inside this covert game
Try as you might to earn my trust
To view and judge that which is my shame

Infiltrate the nest of my disdain
Look upon secrets from my youth
The horrors remain unspoken,
let your eyes surmise a different truth
