April 30, 2018 Thirty Days
Thirty Days

Thirty days
I’ve sat at the keyboard
attempting to put my voice on paper,
to write something,
anything, to be heard.
My shout translates to a whimper
and fingers become mute
while letters form unintelligible words
and nonsense dribbles from my digits.

Still, I continue to strike at keys
unwilling to relinquish
my emancipation.
